Extendable arm for sonar

It is not very common to deploy towing equipment by side A-frame on deck. This creates a number of problems in terms of wire transfer, safe deployment/recovery and maintaining wire spacing from the thrusters.

To cope, with this rather unusual task, we designed an extendable spacer arm for the sonar, which was attached to the container twist-locks on deck.
This kept the sonar several metres off the side and we avoided welding structural components to the deck.
